1. Can parents visit the academy and get to know it?

Daily attendance at training sessions is not allowed. However, parents can visit the academy with prior permission or an official invitation. Introductory meetings are also held with parents at the start of each season.

Yes, preparing students for a professional sports path is one of the academy’s strategic goals.

1. What are the current locations of the academy? If none are in our region, where will my child attend? Is housing available?

The main campus is in Riyadh, with a training center in Jeddah. There are future expansion plans.
A student dormitory in Riyadh will soon open to accommodate out-of-town talents.

1. What are the main criteria for student admission to the academy?

Admission is based on the student’s health condition, fitness level, and athletic performance.

1. What are the procedures in place to ensure student safety inside the academy and during camps?

Medical and technical teams oversee student safety during all activities and tournaments, with additional support from the Talent Care team.

1. What is Mahd Academy?

Mahd Sports Academy is the Kingdom’s leading national academy for sports excellence. It was established as one of the strategic initiatives aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, serving as a comprehensive platform for identifying, nurturing, and developing athletic talent according to the highest international standards. The Academy aims to build a new generation of champions capable of representing the Kingdom in regional and international sporting events. It also seeks to contribute to the development of the sports sector and to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position on the global sports map.

1. What Sets Mahd School Apart?

Mahd Schools are distinguished by an integrated educational and athletic environment that combines a unique learning experience with tailored sports training, a nutritional system, and medical care, in addition to English language programs and personal skills development. The schools also provide educational, behavioural, and social supervision, along with safe and well-organized transportation services.

2. Does the academy provide transportation for the talents?

Yes, the academy offers bus services to take students to school in the morning and to training centers in Riyadh and Jeddah in the evening.

2. Is the training program limited to Saudi Arabia, or does it include overseas camps? What is the supervision process?

The programs include both local and international camps and tournaments, in addition to living experiences and scholarships, all under the supervision of the academy’s technical, administrative, and medical teams.

2. Is there a special academic program for student-athletes? Is it different from the general education system?

Yes, the program is approved and customized by the National Center for Curriculum Development. It focuses on core skills, national identity, English language, and the athletic and personal development of students.

2. What are the registration channels for Mahd Academy?

• Participating in talent discovery events announced on the academy’s website.
• Scouting team visits to schools and friendly tournaments.
• Enrolling in affiliated programs such as “Tamheed” and “Takween”.
• Registering via the AI-based talent discovery platform (currently in pilot phase).

The student's progress is monitored through a comprehensive tracking program, with periodic reports sent to parents by the Talent Care team.?

3. What is Mahd Talent’s journey?

The Mahd Talent Journey consists of eight interconnected steps that support the young athlete from the moment of registration until the end of the sports season.

The journey begins with the registration and nomination stage, followed by receiving an invitation with a scheduled performance trial. The athlete then undergoes the first performance trial, which lasts for one day, followed by the second performance trial, which extends over an entire week for deeper evaluation.

Next comes the initial acceptance stage, lasting from one week up to a month, during which the athlete is monitored preliminarily before being officially enrolled in the Mahd program. After joining, the athlete enters the sports development stage, which lasts for a full season (10 months), during which they receive the necessary training and preparation to refine their skills.

The journey concludes with the end-of-season evaluation stage, which determines the athlete’s level and outlines their future steps.

4. Are there future opportunities to transition to sports clubs or international programs?

Yes, and this is overseen by the academy’s specialized technical team.

4. What are the privileges of talents in Mahd?

The privileges of talents in Mahd include a comprehensive system that ensures young athletes the best environment for growth and development. The journey begins with structured sports training that hones their skills, followed by immersive experiences that provide real-world exposure, and then participation in intensive training camps that enhance their fitness and discipline. Athletes also take part in sports tournaments that allow them to compete and refine their performance in real competitive settings.

In parallel, athletes receive educational programs that support their academic path, along with close monitoring of their athletic performance and nutrition to ensure the highest levels of readiness. They also benefit from specialized medical care to safeguard their health, in addition to comprehensive support that extends to them and their families—creating a balanced and sustainable environment for achieving both athletic and personal success.

4. What happens if there are no school seats available despite passing the tryouts?

Each case is reviewed individually to ensure the student can be enrolled in the Sports Talents School and assigned an appropriate school seat.

4. What type of evaluation does the student undergo during their time at the academy, both in sports and academics?

The student is evaluated technically in terms of athletic performance and academically in school subjects and related educational programs.

5. How can the student’s admission status be tracked? Will the guardian be notified?

Parents receive regular updates at every stage of the admission process. Once accepted, a dedicated member of the Talent Care team is assigned to stay in contact with the guardian.

5. What are the age groups in Mahd’s programs?

Foundation Stage (6–10 years):
The young talent begins their journey by developing fundamental motor skills, which form a strong base for future athletic growth.

Emerging Talent Stage (11–14 years):
The athlete progresses to acquiring specialized skills related to their sport, significantly enhancing their technical abilities.

Excellence Stage (15–17 years):
The talent participates in high-level competitions, enabling advanced competitive performance and refining practical experience.

Mastery Stage (18 years and above):
The athlete reaches the stage of national representation and participation in international events, becoming part of the sporting elite.

6. Are there any fees or financial charges?

The academy and the Sports Talents School are entirely free national initiatives.

6. Does the academy accept both boys and girls? And is admission limited to Saudis only?

Registration is open to both boys and girls for sports such as athletics and martial arts. Football is currently limited to boys only.
Admission is available for Saudi citizens, children of Saudi mothers, and Saudi-born residents.
