The First Edition of the Mahd International Football Championship

Mahad Sports Academy is launching the inaugural edition of the Mahad International Football Tournament, which will be hosted by the King Abdullah Sports City "Al-Jawhara" in Jeddah. The tournament will feature the participation of eight teams in the 2009/2008 category, representing six prestigious clubs and two global academies.

The tournament will include the teams of Italian club Juventus, Dutch club Twente, Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol, Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, Belgian club Royal Antwerp, Ghanaian academy Atraamfuor Academy, and Czech club Slavia Prague, in addition to the participation of the Mahad Academy team as the host.

The tournament will last for six days, with the matches played in a group stage format. The tournament teams will be divided into two groups, followed by knockout matches in the advanced rounds, leading up to the final match scheduled for the 18th of the current January.

Through this tournament, the Academy aims to hone and develop talent, as well as familiarize itself with the latest approaches employed by global academies and teams in developing youth talent. Additionally, the Academy will be organizing workshops, training courses, and immersion programs for the Saudi technical and administrative staff, to develop the local cadres.
